Dr. Meg Roetto, DMFT, LCSW
Dr. Roetto has worked with the foster and adoption population for many years. Her observations of the unique, complicated, and traumatic long-term effects on this population led to her research on the interaction of ambiguous loss and the foster and adoption population. In 2023, Dr. Roetto presented her research at the International Family Therapy Conference in Spain, and in 2025, she presented it in Scotland. She continues to research the intertwining of ambiguous loss in children, teens, and adults who are a part of the foster and adoption population. This research also looks at how clinicians can work uniquely with this population through an ambiguous loss lens and an ambiguous loss assessment.
